On 21-22 Nov, 2015, HPC (High Peace Council) and IWPR (Institute for War and Peace Reporting) conducted a two- day workshop on Public Relations and Media for the Provincial Public Relations Officers of the HPC from 18 provinces at conference hall of Kabul Star Hotel.
The workshop started with the recitation of Holy Quran by Mulawi Shafiullah Nooristani. Later on, Qazi Mohammad Amin Waqad, head of Public Outreach Committee of HPC, welcomed the participants of the workshop and talked about the recent achievements of Peace Process. He said “the recent bloody and terrific incidents and wars, awakened Afghans and now they realize the importance of Peace than ever.” He asked the participants to treat the people in their provinces with dignity and honor so they will fully support the peace process.
Later on, Eng. Farhadullah Farhad, Deputy CEO JS/APRP, provided information on the agenda of the workshop to the participants. He added “at the end of this workshop, you will learn more about conducting Interviews, organizing different meetings, photo journalism, and sending effective messages. As well, you can share your experiences with each other.” He asked the provincial public relations officers to create close relations with religious scholars, civil societies, tribal elders, youth, women and influential people and send out their messages through them to the people and oppositions.
In this two-days workshop, HPC staff and IWPR trainers delivered professional and technical presentations, the participants had the opportunity for group works and open discussions. The workshop ended with the distribution of promotional materials and certificate to the participants. As well, HPC handed over some computers and cameras, to those participants who haven’t received it yet.
